It’s fun to look back at where you’ve come from and see what is the same and what has changed. Currently I have an exhibition at Nadine’s Fine Art and Frames in downtown Vernon which includes both my first cyanotype works and my most current cyanotype works.  It’s not a true retrospective but more of a snapshot of the bookends of my cyanotype work so far. You will find this heart shining out above Vernon Jubilee Hospital as viewed from Polson Park. The heart is illuminated in the darkness and reminds us of the doctors and nurses and all frontline workers. Take a moment to visit Polson Park to see this for yourself!
Today reminded me of this image and the beauty of hoarfrost on the trees and buildings. This photo was taken on East Hill in Vernon looking down on the steeple of St James church and with the Science Centre just visible in the bottom left hand corner. This thick blanket of hoarfrost created a fantastical but beautiful view of Vernon.
Carving Being on the mountaintop and experiencing the wonder of winter, is there anything better? My latest series of winter cyanotype images was created to reflect the fun and shared experience of playing in the snow. This one is set on Silver Star Mountain where carving is a favourite activity!
